Public BBQ

A well-appointed community playground beside the Cook Community Hub, with a train structure and tunnel, spring seesaws shaped as a triceratops and a pelican, a spinning platform, a climbing tower with a spiral pole, curved ladder and metal slide, and swings with both standard and toddler seats. A shade sail covers much of it, though not the swings, and there is tree shade besides. The picnic area has a double barbecue, a sheltered table and an unsheltered one, bench seats facing the playground and bins for both recycling and rubbish. A mosaic pathway in Aboriginal style depicts native wildlife. Outdoor fitness equipment sits about a hundred metres away at the edge of the oval. There are no toilets here, the nearest being at the Cook shops 200 metres away. Park at the Community Hub or the shops, or on Roman Street, as the large car park beside the park is privately owned.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with the local council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

You should first check with your local council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
